This workshop will cover the skills and techniques that investigative
journalists, and private-eyes use to do deep digging research on the
internet. It will cover mastering the art of crafting a good search,
getting valuable information to come to you, and accessing the wealth
of information on the net that search engines like google can't find.
Pick up skills you can use everyday. Jammed packed from edge to edge, even an expert researcher will learn a lot!
The presenter, Tim Groves, is a Toronto based investigative researcher
who shares his skills with a variety of activist and community groups.
In 2002 he began learning property research to support a squatting
campaing. Since then he has developed a wide range of research
skills. He will be in Philly hot on the tails of attending the
Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference in Baltimore.
